82% of all games sold in 2009 were rated E, E10+, or T, so around 17% were rated M. Apparently most gamers prefer less violence in their games? Except, I just went thru all my games and over 80% of them are rated M. Additionally, out of the top 5 360 games sold 4 were rated M, hmmm…

What Motivates You to Purchase a Game?

When I hear about new games coming out, I try not to let the hype get to my head. The reviews, commercials, and teasers are occasionally informative but I never really come out knowing if a game is good. If games were developed under a strict code, requiring extensive testing and a basic requirement for content, then maybe it would be easier to determine a games potential.
